2022 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and General Meeting (GM) are important meetings for all members to attend and give members a broad overview of the Association’s activities for the year including reports from disciplines, clubs and sections and the presentation of the annual financial reports.

Please Note: Proxy voting will be accepted at the 2022 AGM and GM in accordance with government directions. Proxy forms and instructions are available below.

All members are encouraged to attend, as not only is it an opportunity to learn more about the Association, it is also when members vote on the future direction we take.

AGMs and GMs are the only opportunity that members have a vote as an individual on a whole range of issues for the Association. These include the election of the executive committee positions (President, Vice President, Deputy Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and members’ delegates, honorariums for volunteers, ratification of new disciplines, changes to the Constitution and fees charged by the association.

General meetings also present an opportunity for members to voice their feedback in relation to the running and management of the Association.

Proxy Voting Information

Background

Consistent with the Associations Incorporation Regulation 1991, Clauses 29, 30, and 70AA, and Appendix 2 to the Model Rules, SSAA ACT Inc will utilise proxy voting at the Annual General Meeting and General Meeting.

Proxy Nomination Process

Consistent with Clause 29, no member may hold more than 5 proxies.

Consistent with Clause 30, each member is entitled to appoint a proxy by notice given to the Secretary no later than 24hrs prior to the commencement of the meeting for which the proxy is appointed.

Proxy Voting Forms are to be in the form set out here, as adapted for use by SSAA ACT Inc, in a manner approved by the SSAA ACT Inc Council.

• Members nominating a proxy must submit their proxy form to the SSAA ACT Secretary at: proxy@ssaaact.org.au no less than 24hrs prior to the commencement of the AGM.

• A copy of the signed and dated Proxy Voting Form should also be provided by the nominating member to their nominated proxy. The Proxy should retain the copy of the signed proxy voting form and take it to the AGM, to help resolve any inconsistencies that may arise.
