SSAA ACT Inc. Statement on Qld members at the Range Complex

17 December 2025

At its December 2025 meeting, the SSAA ACT Inc. Council considered the recognition of SSAA Queensland members following the suspension of SSAA Qld from the National federation.

Consideration was given to SSAA Qld members accessing and using the SSAA ACT Inc. Range Complex during Territory and National matches and also during General Members sessions.

It was a decision of the Council, that from 1 January 2026, SSAA Qld members who are not a member of another SSAA recognised State or Territory, would be required to pay the non-member Range Fee and would not be eligible to purchase an Annual Range Pass for the SSAA ACT Inc. Range Complex.

It was also agreed that, while the suspension of SSAA Qld from SSAA remains in force, any SSAA Qld member would not be able to compete in any SSAA State or National events, unless they are also a member of another SSAA recognised State, Territory or Full Member Body.

Way forward:

The SSAA ACT Inc. Council understands that this is an unfortunate circumstance for SSAA Qld members to be in, and offers the following options:

  • Any person is able to join the newly formed SSAA Queensland Hunting and Shooting Association. If a person is able to show proof of membership of SSAA QHS, they will be eligible to compete in State or National competitions held on the SSAA ACT Inc. Range Complex, and purchase either an Annual Range Pass or pay the member Daily Range Fee.
  • A member of SSAA Qld is also able to join the SSAA ACT Inc. or any other SSAA State or Territory (NT, WA, SA, Vic, Tas, NSW) and also receive the benefits of membership of an SSAA recognised Association and be eligible for the above benefits on the SSAA ACT Inc. Range Complex.
