2025 Australian Masters Games - Centrefire Rifle Event

Overview

SSAA ACT Inc. is proud to host the Centrefire Rifle competition as part of the 20th Australian Masters Games in Canberra. This two-day event will be conducted under the SSAA Precision Rifle Discipline Rulebook and is designed to challenge competitors across a variety of dynamic and timed stages.

Each stage will feature steel targets of varying sizes and shapes placed between 200 and 500 metres. Competitors will engage 8–12 rounds per stage from both prone and barricade positions, with time limits ranging from 90 to 120 seconds per stage.

This event is a true test of precision, adaptability, and composure under pressure.

Note: This event will continue one day after the official close of the Australian Masters Games.

Safety

All participants must:

  • Hold a current firearms licence (proof required)
  • Wear hearing and eye protection at all times while shooting
  • Sign in via the SSAA ACT Inc. Range Attendance system
  • Wear closed-toe footwear (no singlets, thongs, or camouflage clothing permitted)

Note:

  • No firearm or ammunition storage is available at the range.
  • Interstate participants are responsible for their own secure storage arrangements.
